Poterie de Port-au-Persil

About

The Poterie de Port-au-Persil’s history began near 50 years ago in the old yellow barn, also always called "the Yellow Barn" by English speakers. The gallery exhibits the works of 40 renowned ceramists, most of them emulating late master potter Pierre Legault. The studio allows audiences of all ages to create their own potteries under the supervision of our in-house ceramists (adapted to the sanitary conditions of the moment) and in continuity with the founder’s work. Lectures and guided tours for groups on request. For details and pricing on pottery activities or guided tours, log on the Poterie’s website. Families welcome, we promise lasting memories.

Activities

  • One of the oldest institutions specializing in ceramics in Quebec. It has offered for near 50 years, in the old yellow barn (commonly known from the outset "the Yellow Barn"), a boutique gallery and a workshop allowing the public to create their own pieces (according to sanitary conditions of the moment and reservation required for the workshops). Large selection of unique pieces from acclaimed ceramists. Seminars and group visits fees upon request. Welcome to the families.

  • Unique in Québec for near 50 years. This Art and Crafts gallery gathers the works of professional ceramists from Québec, recipients of numerous Québec and Canadian awards. More often than not they are followers of Pierre Legault, La Poterie’s founding ceramist. A prize bearing his name is awarded to the most deserving Canadian artist for achieving excellence in research and artistic expression. Free workshops to create your own pieces (according to the sanitary conditions of the moment, reservation required at all times).

  • Unique in Québec for near 50 years, a boutique of pieces made on the premises or elsewhere as a memento of your visit. Also create your very own piece in the pleasant atmosphere of our friendly and whimsical studio open to everyone.
