Poterie de Port-au-Persil

About

Celebrating 50 years! After acquiring this beautiful old yellow barn on June 12, 1974, Poterie de Port-au-Persil began upon its quest for ceramic excellence. This unique pottery studio trained and exhibited the works of some of the best ceramists in Quebec. Ever since, la Poterie has continued the tradition of displaying renowned ceramists’ and potters’ work in its gallery. La Poterie’s soul is expressed in its studio, where the general public is invited to create their own pieces of art during open workshops. Reservations required for all visits. For more details about opening hours, activities and prices, visit la Poterie’s website.

Activities

  • One of Quebec’s oldest specialist ceramic institutions. For over 50 years, the old yellow barn, also simply known as the “Yellow Barn,” has been home to a gallery-boutique and a workshop for visitors to create their own pieces of art. A vast selection of unique pieces by famous ceramists. Prices for group classes and visits available upon request. Families with children welcome.

  • The only pottery studio of its kind in Quebec, la Poterie de Port-au-Persil’s story began when Évelyne Mainville purchased the yellow barn on June 12, 1974. La Poterie’s art trade gallery is home to pieces by local professional ceramists who have won awards from across Quebec and Canada. Most follow in the footsteps of Pierre Legault, the master potter who cofounded la Poterie de Port-au-Persil’s pottery school in 1976. Open workshops to create your own works of art.

  • The only pottery studio of its kind in Quebec, la Poterie de Port-au-Persil’s story began 50 years ago. A boutique with pieces made on site or further afield, 100% art trade, hand made in Quebec, for a wonderful keepsake of your visit. So, come enjoy yourself as you create your own souvenirs in our friendly, fun workshop that is open to all. Reservations required for all visits.
