Fall in Charlevoix appeals to all the senses: richly coloured leaves, a cool breeze on your face, the scent of damp earth, the snap of twigs along a forest trail and the full flavour of freshly harvested produce.

With fruit and vegetables in abundance, agritourism is especially rewarding during the harvest. From apples and pears to squash and pumpkins, there’s plenty to gather at the region’s U-pick farms, a favourite seasonal outing. Charlevoix’s Flavour Trail also gives you an opportunity to meet producers and sample their specialties.

There’s just as much to do in Charlevoix in fall as in summer. Comfortable temperatures make it easy to stay outdoors, and the occasional warm spell extends that summer feeling a little longer. From September through November, there are still plenty of opportunities for hiking, cycling, whale watching and golf, with brilliant foliage adding to the appeal. There’s every reason to keep getting outside as the season unfolds.
