Closing Roundtable Of The Symposium – International Symposium of Contemporary Art of Baie-Saint-Paul
On this final day of the Symposium, we invite you to join us at 10:30 am in the Museum Hall for the closing roundtable of this wonderful event, featuring special guests! Through distinct artistic practices yet united by a shared interest in the interplay of perception, visibility, and concealment, artists Valérie Blass, Nicolas Laverdière (BGL), and Caroline Mauxion will come together for a conversation with curator Anaïs Castro on camouflage as an aesthetic strategy. Exploring the ways in which artworks blend into their surroundings, subvert expectations, or reveal the invisible, this discussion will address camouflage as a critical tool for questioning the relationships between the individual, the landscape, collective narratives, and mechanisms of representation. Presented as part of the 2026 Baie-Saint-Paul Symposium, this roundtable offers a reflection on camouflage’s potential to transform the way we see, inhabit, and interpret the world. All while enjoying coffee and croissants.
