Maison Gabrielle-Roy

In 1958, Gabrielle Roy moved to Grande-Pointe in front of the river, and spent all her summers there, in her modest cabin, which remained her refuge until her death in 1983. She wrote several novels in this place of meditation. In the company of her friend, Berthe Simard, she walked along the railway line and collected the inspiring material to write "Cet été qui chantait", a novel dedicated to Petite-Rivière-Saint-François. On March 8, 2021, the Government of Quebec designated Gabrielle Roy: "Historical Person".
