Charlevoix is home to great snowmobile adventures

Renowned for its spectacular panoramas and exceptional snow cover, the Charlevoix region is one of North America’s best snowmobile destinations. With hundreds of kilometres of marked trails, many loops between the river and mountains, and its breathtaking nature, this is the ideal playground for a truly exhilarating getaway. The region’s unique relief was formed by a meteorite impact more than 400 million years ago, sculpting extraordinary landscapes that hide many treasures. Exploring the region on a snowmobile takes you to otherwise inaccessible places to discover the vast natural territory featuring the boreal forest in its thick white coat, the snowy valleys and the splendor of St. Lawrence River, where the ice waltzes to the rhythm of the tides.

Charlevoix offers many possibilities with packages developed by several partners. Located in La Malbaie, two specialized companies, Nord Expé and Top Location Charlevoix provide several options to rent state-of-the-art snowmobiles and equipment, take guided outings and enjoy turnkey getaways.

The extensive tour offer will appeal to all types of adventurers. With 978 kilometres of adventure, La Grande Boucle offers the best of both worlds. Departing from Québec City, this sensational loop crosses Charlevoix and Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.

The La Malbaie loop starts in this vibrant city and criss-crosses the trails for 122 kilometres, up to the mountains sector, where you can marvel at breathtaking views from the peaks of the Peine, Thérèse-Casgrain and Grand-Fonds mountains.

In Saint-Siméon, 117 kilometres of wild territory promise a magical winter experience. The wide and clear trails that criss-cross the Zec Lac-au-Sable are sure to get your adrenaline pumping.

On the Baie-Saint-Paul side, 68 kilometres of trails from the valley to the summits take you on a journey to the heights of the city, crossing the Golf Baie-Saint-Paul course and revealing magnificent viewpoints over the bay, the Gouffre River valley and Isle-aux-Coudres.

Several accommodation establishments, including the luxurious Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu & Casino complex, the welcoming Petit Manoir du Casino, the forest-friendly Auberge du Ravage and the comfortable Hôtel Baie-Saint-Paul are perfect hosts for snowmobilers. ÖBois Charlevoix in Saint-Siméon and Motel Le 2020 in La Malbaie are also essential stops for a quality getaway.
