Terrasses Cap-à-l’Aigle

About

The Terrasses Cap-à-l’Aigle serve two purposes : they promote Québec’s natural contemporary architecture and contribute to Charlevoix’s growth. Exceptional territory of mountainous terrain bordered by the St. Lawrence River, Charlevoix is the ideal region for welcoming homes of contemporary architecture, built essentially from local natural materials. All of Terrasses Cap-à-l’Aigle’s chalets are in perfect harmony with their environment and oriented to take advantage of the view, sunlight and ventilation.

Lodging

  • Overlooking the majestic Saint-Lawrence River stretching over 15 km in this vicinity, the chalet La Plaisance appears to be emerging from the immense Charlevoix forest. The house has the appearance of the interconnected volumes. The first, vertical is solidly rooted in the rock and the second, horizontal, is perched on stilts. This arrangement gives form to two vast terraces on each floor. A generous fenestration floods the interor with light and opens up to a unique panorama. These two simple and modern volumes combined with a rustic-style interior lend a feeling of cozy comfort.

  • Superb century-old house with an unrestricted view on the river. A guaranteed and unforgettable return to the past!

  • Discover this most trendy and unusual house! Located on a quiet site, with the St. Lawrence River as backdrop, this ultra-contemporary design house integrates seamlessly with its lanscape. The warm interior decor promotes relaxation.

  • Like two rocks at low tide providing a stunning and welcoming view of the river, the volumes of the rooms stand out from the forest. The living quarters, located on the lower level, are skillfully arranged and open up to an immense landscaped terrace evoking an indoor beach.

  • The chalet La Grange is the most recent addition to the Terrasses Cap-à-l’Aigle. Its architecture highlights the site’s natural beauty. Perched atop a crest and surrounded by the neighbouring forest, this prestigious 2-storey chalet offers a stunning view on the St. Lawrence River.
Inspired from the traditional regional barn, its familiar shape is entirely covered with vertically applied metal siding. Three volumetric cut-outs correspond to the entrance and the two terraces. These recesses to the main volumetry are emphasized by wood sidings resembling of a tree’s protective bark.
