Returning to Baie-Saint-Paul

« Early in my childhood, I discovered a passion for the hotel and catering industry. At 18, with my hotel management diploma in my back pocket, I started my career which, over the years, took me to live in 9 countries spread over two continents.

I moved to Québec at 25 and was hired as manager in some of Montréal’s most prestigious hotels. In my first winter, I paid a visit to the national capital during its famous carnival and to the Charlevoix region where Baie-Saint-Paul’s landscapes and magnificent nature cast their spell on me. As a memento of my winter stay I brought back a small Vladimir Horik painting: a snow-covered landscape that captured the extraordinary light, which I kept for many years.

Back to Canada in 2016, the Hôtels Germain offered me the top management position at their Charlevoix property. This resort proposes an unmatched experience with personalized service and gourmet dining worthy of the best hotels in Canada.

I have since then been privileged to run the Hôtel & Spa Le Germain Charlevoix; the property combines modernity, design and comfort in magnificent natural surroundings and pays homage to the beautiful Charlevoix region’s heritage and wealth.

Baie-Saint-Paul has of course changed since my last visit in 1986. I was impressed with how the region evolved and yet I recognized the charm and authenticity of this quiet place that once seduced me.

My family and I are discovering Baie-Saint-Paul’s attractions and we follow the rhythm of the seasons. From the small Vladimir Horik painting to the life-size postcard that so amazes us, I feel that I have come full circle when I returned to Baie-Saint-Paul. »
