Pathway

Day 1
Departure : Charlevoix’s  welcoming area atop the Massif
Sleeping arrangement : Liguori in refuge
Distance covered : 3 km
Duration : approximately 1.5 hour
Note : If you arrive early at the Liguori refuge, you may want to go to the first lookout of the Gabrielle Roy Ouest trail which provides a wonderful view on the river.

Day 2
Sleeping arrangement : Abattis in refuge
Distance covered : 7.2 km
Duration : 2.5 to 3 hours

Day 3
Sleeping arrangement : Lac Gauthier in refuge
Distance covered : 7.5 km
Duration : 3 to 3.5 hours

Day 4
Arrival : Charlevoix’s welcoming area atop the Massif,
Distance covered : 2.5 km
Duration : 1 hour
Note : You may travel this route by reversing the order of the refuges.

Principal access – for registration

From Baie-Saint-Paul, take Boulevard 138 Ouest heading for Québec City to Saint-Tite-des-Caps. The welcoming area is on your right at the corner of rue Leclerc shortly after passing the Dépanneur Esso.

Charlevoix Welcome Centre (winter only) – trail departure

From Baie-Saint-Paul, take Route 138 Ouest heading for Québec City to Chemin du Massif on the left. Drive 2 km on Chemin du Massif, the Charlevoix’s welcoming area for the Sentier des Caps is on your left.

It is always important to get information from the trail manager before going hiking.
