About
Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie was named after a series of valleys cut deep into a range of high mountains. The Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie are among the highest rock faces East of the Rockies! Steep slopes, beautiful natural surroundings, and the unusual course of Rivière Malbaie make this an exceptional site. Come and take a voyage into the heart of the Land of Menaud, where time stops but the spectacle goes on and on. This national park has the privilege of being one of the core zones of the Charlevoix Biosphere Reserve.
Pathway
Approach the path from a forest road along the Malbaie River. The trail lets you observe the Cran des Érables and then crosses a maple grove whose Fall foliage is simply amazing. *Does not include the approach path, a logging road that runs along Rivière Malbaie (2.4 km round trip, 30 min.).
Departure Point
Pont des Érables (km 2)
Access
One can reach the park along Route 138 by driving through the village of Saint-Aimé-des-Lacs, via rue Principale. It takes about half an hour (27 km) to arrive at Félix-Antoine-Savard Discovery and Visitor Centre.
It is always important to get information from the trail manager before going hiking.
