"For quite a while, we dreamed of settling here and buying a livestock farm of goats and Highland beef. After being selected for the position of Fauna protection Agent in Charlevoix, Michel and I decided that it was a good omen. Even more when we realized that the farm we had purchased on rang 5 in Saint-Hilarion was the one we had visited as students, when we were both already dreaming about Charlevoix.
Winter kayaking and dog-sledding guide
I arrived in Charlevoix ten years ago directly from the Yukon. I have known immensity but what just hit me upon my arrival was the mixed territory of sea and mountain where at last I would be able to live my passions to the fullest.
I was born in Pointe-au-Pic. This explains that. I laugh out loud and my language is, let’s just say, rather colourful. That’s how we are at home. Authentic people who love life and every day find lots of inspiration in living in beautiful surroundings. After squatting the big cities for 15 years, I felt the need to get back to my roots. I now have my own studio in Cap-à-l’Aigle in the former home of my father’s uncle next to my grandfather’s, a sculpter and mariner.
Professionnal kite surfer
I love my part of the country with its majestic river surrounding my island, for that wind which every day of the year pushes us with all sails set. Born in Isle-aux-Coudres, this is where I return after each competition abroad, to recharge my batteries, see friends from my early years and feel the salt-sea air on my skin.
Business development manager Maison d’affinage Maurice Dufour
I was born here on the family land 25 years ago. My Dad, Maurice Dufour, had 13 siblings. Picture the family reunions! My childhood memories relate to the activities we all took part in right here on the family farm. It goes from skating on boots to off-piste snowmobile rides in powdered snow-covered trails from the top of the mountain, in Baie-Saint-Paul. Nothing compares to this feeling of total freedom!
