I arrived in Charlevoix ten years ago directly from the Yukon. I have known immensity but what just hit me upon my arrival was the mixed territory of sea and mountain where at last I would be able to live my passions to the fullest.

I was born in Pointe-au-Pic. This explains that. I laugh out loud and my language is, let’s just say, rather colourful. That’s how we are at home. Authentic people who love life and every day find lots of inspiration in living in beautiful surroundings. After squatting the big cities for 15 years, I felt the need to get back to my roots. I now have my own studio in Cap-à-l’Aigle in the former home of my father’s uncle next to my grandfather’s, a sculpter and mariner.

I love my part of the country with its majestic river surrounding my island, for that wind which every day of the year pushes us with all sails set. Born in Isle-aux-Coudres, this is where I return after each competition abroad, to recharge my batteries, see friends from my early years and feel the salt-sea air on my skin.

I was born here on the family land 25 years ago. My Dad, Maurice Dufour, had 13 siblings. Picture the family reunions! My childhood memories relate to the activities we all took part in right here on the family farm. It goes from skating on boots to off-piste snowmobile rides in powdered snow-covered trails from the top of the mountain, in Baie-Saint-Paul. Nothing compares to this feeling of total freedom!
