Please find answers to the most frequent questions with reference to the gradual deconfinement. However, Tourisme Charlevoix recommends contacting the various tourism businesses you wish to visit to have accurate and timely information.

 

Is the Charlevoix region ready to welcome tourists? Yes, the Charlevoix region is fully committed and looking forward to welcoming visitors, in full compliance with the imposed sanitary measures.

Are the welcoming and tourism information offices open? Some of our offices are now open. You can check our opening hours on the Contact Us page.  You can also contact our tourism information experts at +1 418-665-4454, by email at the following address : info@tourisme-charlevoix.com, via the online chatting on our website.

Is wearing a mask mandatory? In certain places, wearing a mask is already required and will be mandatory in all enclosed public places as of July 18.

I forgot to bring my mask, where can I get one in Charlevoix? Masks can be purchased in the region’s drugstores. Check the On s’équipe dans Charlevoix website to learn about the different locations where one may buy individual protective equipment.

What is important to know BEFORE going to one of the region’s national parks? Before leaving, is it MANDATORY to reserve your place on line and to use the virtual box-office to pay your access rights. Due to the sanitary guidelines, please note that the shuttling service is suspended for the summer 2020 at des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie national park.

Is wearing a mask mandatory on board the ferries in Québec? Yes as of now, wearing a mask is compulsory for the Traverse Rivière-du-Loup/Saint-Siméon. The Société des traversiers du Québec has informed us that come July 13, 2020, it will be mandatory to wear a mask on board the Traverse Tadoussac/Baie-Saint-Catherine and the Traverse l’Isle-aux-Coudres/Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive. You should have your mask on when boarding to gain access to the ferries.

Where are the accessible public washrooms? In Baie-Saint-Paul’s and La Malbaie’s shopping centers and most of the region’s convenience stores and gas stations.  In Baie-Saint-Paul, at the Carrefour culturel Paul-Médéric and at the Pro-Santé community center. In La Malbaie, the restrooms of the Jardins in Cap-à-l’Aigle and those of Havre de Pointe-au-Pic are open. You may also go to one of the welcome and tourist information offices during opening hours.

Has the Casino de Charlevoix reopened? The Casino de Charlevoix is now open. To find the new schedule, the measures in place and to book your place online, please visit the Charlevoix Casino website.
