Cité Mémoire Charlevoix

After more than 7 years of bringing Montréal’s history to light, the team behind Cité Mémoire (Michel Lemieux, Victor Pilon, Michel Marc Bouchard) has come to Charlevoix (Marie-Christine Dufour, president of the Musée de Charlevoix, has been recruited as a producer) with an interactive tour retracing the history of this unique meteorite region. The team presents 5 storytelling projections on the cliffs beside the river, and on  the grounds and buildings of Pointe-au-Pic, plus 70 points of interest spread over more than 2,000 km² of the region that you can discover in the form of augmented realities or podcasts. This stunning multimedia experience will be available summer and winter via the free Cité Mémoire app and all you need to do is stroll around with earphones listening to the historical figures come to life before your eyes and ears!

Le Vol de l’Oiseau mécanique

Like a carousel rolling down to the river and flying up over the mountain, Le Vol de l’Oiseau mécanique (literally the flight of the clockwork bird) is a spectacular summer activity starting in June. This is an immersive show aboard the chairlifts of the popular ski resort Massif de Charlevoix, complete with light and sound, presented every summer evening until September 4. Created by Atelier Occhio, a collective of artists who have worked individually on several large-scale productions (Le Cirque du Soleil, Robert Lepage, and others), the circuit stretches from the downhill chairlift to the uphill chairlift via a marked path that also features sound and light. A unique way to admire the splendours of the landscape between sky, land and sea.

Les Fééries de Charlevoix and the Cirque Éclats

From August 10 to October 2 under the marquee of the Hôtel-Casino de Charlevoix, immerse yourself in a world that mimics the bustling nature of fun fairs. A trip down memory lane, a trail of deconstructed memories, a house of mirrors with neon lights that sparkle in the night, each scene shines a light on the perilous world of Éclats, an exclusive creation by The 7 Fingers. This unique cabaret experience, set between the sea and the mountains, is inspired by stories from the Charlevoix region.

Like the Éclats circus, Les Fééries offers many free activities for the whole family. With food trucks, a gourmet market showcasing local produce, colourful characters, music and more, you are invited to enjoy and be entertained. Admission is free, with some chargeable activities, and a number of surprises will be added to the program.

When stopping at the Baie-Saint-Paul train station, you can walk to the warm and welcoming Bistro des Balcons, which opens its doors this summer with a rich program of comedy, poetry and music ranging from folk to jazz to rock. Plus, the Bistro brings Quebecers and tourists together for special events such as the Saint-Jean-Baptiste holiday and end-of-season celebrations! The sixty-seat hall also features a terrace overlooking the pastoral Chemin des Sœurs, ideal for an aperitif, where you can enjoy small dishes from Charlevoix producers and 100% Québec-made beverages!
