About

As well as the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park being one of the most breathtaking places in the world for whale watching, this protected area is also inhabited by 2,200 other fascinating species.

Discover fascinating marine life and spectacular vistas, while enjoying vibrant experiences, including observation sites, interpretation centres, hiking trails and excursions on the Saguenay Fjord or the St. Lawrence River.

Did you know that no matter what type of craft you use, you can disturb marine mammals and cause them to change their natural behaviour? Benefit from this quick and to learn more about the regulations and best practices.

Activities

  • Discover marine interpretation centres with breathtaking views of the park. Keep your eyes wide open! You may see whales, seals and seabirds.
    Visit: Centre écologique de Port-au-Saumon (La Malbaie), Pointe-Noire Interpretation and Observation Centre (Baie-Sainte-Catherine).

  • On the way to the North Shore, you will have the chance to discover several observation sites and interpretation centres, as well as take part in guided sea excursions.
    Visit: Centre écologique de Port-au-Saumon (La Malbaie), Port-au-Persil (Saint-Siméon), Pointe-Noire Interpretation and Observation Centre (Baie-Sainte-Catherine), Bosco Charlevoix (sea kayaking, Saint-Siméon).

  • Make a stop at the Saint-Fidèle Visitor Centre for information about the beaches on the shores of the Marine Park.

  • The marine park is home to 13 species of whales, 6 of which are more frequent. Can you recognize belugas, minke whales, harbour porpoises, fin whales and humpback whales?
