The Société d’histoire de Charlevoix is housed in the Riverin forge, a building dating back to 1840. Exhibitions in 2020 (beginning of May): Espace Mémoire Riverin. Hommage aux forgerons Riverin (tribute to the blacksmiths Riverin); Suzy Gagnon and the Cirque du Soleil and works of the painter Bertrand Tremblay; books and magazines sale. Historical information. Guided tours with a historic character on Saint-Étienne Street, upon reservation.

Activities

  • Espace-Mémoire Riverin : the story of 4 generations of blacksmiths with the tools of the trade on site. Exhibition on the history La Malbaie’s downtown area. The Société d’histoire de Charlevoix’s magazines and books are sold here.
