About
The Parcours des berges Alexis le Trotteur trail proposes an enchanting setting with multiple outdoor activities and quality installations. In 2010, for the town’s 75th anniversary celebrations, a sculpture of the legendary figure of Alexis le Trotteur by the artist Léonce Émond, was erected near the Kioque des Berges. Signage narrating the origins of Alexis Lapointe, known as le Trotteur, was also added.
Parcours
Beginning near the Menaud bridge, the Parcours des berges de la rivière Malbaie stretches over 4 km and borders the banks of the Malbaie river. Fishing, canoeing, cycling, walking and all kinds of other activities may be enjoyed. A stage welcomes shows, and the landscaping is remarkable. Walking the course enhanced with informative panels about the municipality’s foundation, hikers will climb a hill to a panorama on the surrounding mountains and the region. Salmon pools may also be seen.
The Parcours is also accesible to people with low mobility.
