About
The La Faille trail offers a 5,6 km round trip family hike to the La Faille refuge from the parking lot of Lac Saint-Tite. It is part of the long hiking trail linking Cap-Tourmente to Petite-Rivière-Saint-François via Saint-Titre-des Caps. Two belvederes overlook the Saint-Lawrence River and the Archipelago of Montmagny islands, the Celtic cross to the west of Grosse Île (binoculars a must), the Banc du cap Brûlé and two lighthouses that were previously manned.
The Refuge de la Faille is located at the heart of the peak in an immense geological fault overhanging the river; this shelter is accessible to day hikers wishing to rest or eat their lunch (wood available on site).
You may either loop this trail, using the Anse-de-la-Montée-du-Lac trail (6 km) on the return leg, a section of which is of intermediary level, or simply do a round trip (5.6 km).
