Co-owner of the Auberge La Muse
« When I met him, my husband, Robert Arsenault, already owned the inn which had at the time, five rooms. We are, by the way, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Auberge de la Muse this year!
I joined him in 1990 and we now offer 12 rooms divided between the 1881 charming Victorian home and the former general store. We have been serving dinner since 1992 in our Chez Bouquet bistro of which we are most proud.
Our visitors appreciate the inn’s location, in the very heart of downtown Baie-Saint-Paul.
Once arrived, they leave their suitcases and go explore the area. They go for a beer at the MicroBrasserie de Charlevoix, sample some products at Cidrerie des Vergers Pedneault’s boutique, and enjoy the festivals…
I hail from the region: a true Tremblay from Charlevoix! Robert grew up in Montréal; he came here on holiday and fell in love with the place.
Charlevoix is, for me, a huge outdoor playground. I just love hiking. And there are so many possibilities! I am thinking about mount Le Dôme where the view is spectacular, or the new trail La Seigneurie in the Éboulements which now joins the trail of the Shipbuilder’s forest.
When visitors come to the region, I send them to these trails, the parks or I recommend a visit to Isle-aux-Coudres which is not far but, of course, only after they visited Baie-Saint-Paul. I encourage them to get their cheese from our artisans, visit the Laiterie Charlevoix or the Ferme Basque, or else, to enjoy the packages we offer for skiing or riding the train. In Charlevoix, the possibilities are endless! »
