Petite-Rivière-Saint-François was the first settlement of the region (1675). Located at the foot of the ski centre, Le Massif de Charlevoix, Petite-Rivière-Saint-François is a narrow strip of land running along the river for more than 6 kilometres. At the end of a panoramic descent, discover a villlage chiseled into the river’s bank over many kilometers.
Petite-Rivière-Saint-François is populated by eels, sympathetic name which, in the popular folklore, refer to the residents of the municipalitie considered as the entrance to Charlevoix to the West. Along the St. Lawrence, Petite-Rivière-Saint-François is one of the beacons of the region, being the cradle of settling in Charlevoix.
