In brief

People come from afar to take a closer look at our whales. That is because Charlevoix’s marine mammals are photogenic. On board zodiacs or larger boats, live the adventure on the Saint-Lawrence. These giants can even be observed from the shore, sometimes even without binoculars.

  • Saguenay - St. Lawrence Marine Park

Covering approximately 1,245 square kilometers, the marine park includes both the water column and the seabed up to the ordinary high water mark. It encompasses three major ecosystems: the Saguenay Fjord downstream from Cap à l’Est; the Upper Estuary, upstream to Gros Cap à l'Aigle; and the Lower Estuary, as far downstream as Pointe Rouge (Les Escoumins).
