Maison du Bootlegger

This traditional Québecois house was built in 1860, dismantled and relocated in the hinterlands in 1939 by a gentleman from Pennsylvania at an era where alcohol is forbidden by the Catholic church and prohibition reigns in the United States. Wanting to trick the morality squads , he changes the layout and creates an ingenious maze. Visitors will be amazed by this colorful house bristling with hidden doors, concealed bars, and secret passages all linked by a narrow corridor that forms an astonishing labyrinth. In the attic he founds a “Speakeasy” where notables gathered to eat and drink. An original concept that offers you during the day a guided tour , lunch and bar services and offers at night an unforgettable evening composed of a guided tour of the maze, dinner and live entertainment with the Bootlegger House Band.
