Church of Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive

Built at the turn of the century in 1910, this place of prayer served as a chapel for the village’s many tourists.  In 1931, it was to become the parish church for residents of the new municipality of Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive, created after the division of upper and lower Les Éboulements.

In 1964, the church’s interiors were renovated to embrace a water theme: Colours and furnishings now attest to the village’s rich maritime past. A 20-minute audio-guide explains this theme in detail.

The kiosk, built in the 30s, extends down from the church square towards the river and invites the eye to wander down to the canal and observe waterway navigation between the shoreline and Isle-aux-Coudres.
